Leeds United have secured their Premier League status for another season, and captain Ethan Ampadu has hailed the achievement as a moment to cherish.

Ampadu spoke after the club’s survival was confirmed, following West Ham United’s defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, which ensured Leeds’ top-flight place regardless of their own result. The Whites then added a point from Monday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
“This is a huge achievement for the club,” Ampadu told BBC Radio Leeds. “You have to celebrate moments like this. It’s not winning the league, but for this club, staying in the Premier League again is massive.”
Because survival was secured before their own game concluded, Ampadu described the unusual feeling. “It’s a bit strange, because you normally do it based on your own result. Dinner last night was relaxed, the mood was good, and the atmosphere was positive. But from this morning, we were fully focused on the match. We wanted to play it like we have all season, be proud of this shirt, and give our best performance.”
Leeds’ Premier League campaign has been unpredictable, with survival ultimately sealed through a combination of rivals’ slip-ups and their own efforts in the final round. As captain, Ampadu has led the team through adversity, and his words reflect the club’s determination to remain among England’s elite.
