Ak Bars forward Grigori Denisenko has spoken about his physical confrontation with Lokomotiv’s Alexander Radulov during Game 1 of the Gagarin Cup Finals.
“I don’t want to comment on the scuffle with Radulov. If necessary, we’ll fight, but in general, nothing special happened between us. It’s hockey – emotions and clashes are normal. I wouldn’t focus on that, or on Radulov. You always have to go to the net, provoke, make the opponent take penalties and get tired. Today we had few positional attacks; they defended tightly, and we didn’t always manage to keep the puck in the neutral zone. The coaching staff will give us advice – we’ll turn the series around,” Denisenko said.
Lokomotiv defeated Ak Bars 3-1 in the first match of the Gagarin Cup Finals, taking a 1-0 series lead.
